THE ROLE AND BENEFITS OF A WELL-ORGANIZED TEAMBUILDING - BOTH INDOOR AND OUTDOOR
The concept of teambuilding is not foreign to companies and enterprises in our country. This activity, intended to provide the opportunity for people who carry out their professional activity within the same company to spend more time together, is very popular in Romania. Teambuilding, generally carried out outside the cities, leaving behind occupational stress and daily routine, aims to help colleagues and superiors get to know each other better outside the workplace, to relate, socialize and discover the qualities of those with whom they spend at least 8 hours every day of the week. However, Romanian teambuilding lacks the educational purpose and activities aimed at developing the creativity of employees.
Our team carries out its teambuilding activity based on the implementation of creative activities and games that, apart from the state of relaxation, aim to instill trust between team members. Such a meeting means more than spending free time in nature, with colleagues. The main objective of teambuilding is, as its name suggests, building the team, its values, self-knowledge, encouraging team spirit and leadership. Moreover, during the activities, participants have the opportunity to develop their communication skills, decision-making, problem-solving and conflict resolution, to develop their competitive spirit and to nurture an attachment to the company they are part of.
Teambuilding is necessary in any company, regardless of its size and field of activity. Through fun, relaxing activities, employees can build new friendships and relax, so that they can be productive at work. Valuable employees, but also those who have special, possibly undiscovered potential, are important to keep within a company. This is the chance for superiors to show their interest in the well-being of employees.
Although many people in management positions believe that employees can only be motivated by very advantageous salaries, bonus packages and the possibility of advancement, this is not entirely true. The atmosphere at work, the anticipation of new trips, the relationship with colleagues and even superiors, are factors that contribute to the decision to stay within a company, or to leave it in favor of another.
The employee's state of mind is of major importance even in very stressful situations. When the workplace atmosphere is relaxed, employees tend to have higher resilience and bear occupational stress much more easily.
These advantages are reflected especially on the company's profit. Except for profit, success and reputation in the professional environment are in most cases due to positive behaviors and attitudes that start from the employee level.
Teambuilding is the activity through which employees are taken out of their comfort zone and encouraged to make new connections, overcoming the limits imposed by the professional environment and crossing a social area, where communication and relationships take place in a completely different way. Teambuilding helps all participants to self-educate, learn and become aware of their flaws, without these being highlighted by other people. Even people who believe that their personal and professional development cannot meet new challenges will be surprised by the effects that such a meeting can have. The end of each activity is a lesson learned for the participants.
Companies that decide to benefit from the advantages of a teambuilding will realize that this is a long-term investment every time. Moreover, it is a tool available to any employer who is looking for continuous development, expansion, performance and quality of services. Teamwork, both in the workplace and outside it, is necessary to achieve the desired professional goals.
