The project started as an initiative of the Raţiu family to open the family property to guests interested in discovering Turda and its surroundings and why not Transylvania.
Our entrepreneurial initiative was conceived as a sustainability project for the projects run by the RaÅ£iu Center for Democracy in Turda, a non-profit organization, whose motto is "Democracy as a way of life".Â
Located right in the historic center of the city, near the Salt Mine and the Turzii Gorges, two of the most representative tourist attractions in the region, Casa Raţiu offers you welcoming rooms with comfortable beds, named after members of the Raţiu family, each with its own story, reflected in a unique design.
We have 22 rooms: 6 twin rooms, 10 double rooms, 4 single rooms and 2 apartments, two conference rooms each with a capacity of 60 seats. The room on the first floor isequipped with all the logistics necessary to hold trainings, product presentations, conferences, wine tastings or other events of this kind. The ground floor room is equipped with a piano where cultural events, mini concerts, etc. can be organized.
We organize festive meals in an intimate and special setting in a relaxing atmosphere. During the winter we offer you the guest house lounge with a capacity for 20 people, and during the summer we can offer those interested the summer gazebo where we can serve 60 people.
